“China” is
cultural, “Modern” is temporal. Living in modern China not only in-cludes
the lively nature of“Modern China”, but its cultural exoticism and traditions
as well. This “inclusiveness” is not complete. Its not a complete westernization
nor is it a complete throwback to classical designs. The aspect is taking
the best from the 2 worlds to create a wholly new design.
Jinxiu Jiangnan of Shanghai is the best evidence for
the gradual entry of real est-ate architectural aesthetics into a healthy
development pathway. Jinxiu Jiangnan pla-nning fully exhibits the written
culture of the environment of Jiangnan which is deep-ly associated with
China’s long cultural history. The design aims to unearth the Jiangnan cultural
aspects of “emotions, curiosity and mysteriousness” and exhibit the air
of “lightness, grace and beauty” through the architectural designs.
Construction
begun in 2001 and in July of the same year the design was prized with the
“National Award for Residential Housing Classical Design” from the Archicectural
Bureau of the country.
