Commerce and Technical Development Zone is critically located at the southwest
of the city of Wuhan and acts as the window to the outside world. It is
next to the city’s Southwest Commerce Belt and is connected at the Central
District. The central district itself has the new Sports Center situated
at the east and the newly built Xinjianghan University to the west. |
 |
| Hugging the north is the Swan Lake
Holiday Retreat. The specific criteria for development of the proposal
are met and the development zone is expected to create a modernized outlook
for the Central District quickly. |

Design specifics
1. Our design concept aims to materialize the 3 critical aspects of
technology, aesthetics and ecology.
2. To create an “Architectural Collective Body”, the design focus
is a group of buildings that exemplifies majesty and grandeur
and at the same time complete with full functions, thus
forming the “3 Great Cores” in the Nucleus of the Zone.
● The Core of Function: Concentrating all functions into the core
for efficiency and collectivity
● The Core of Nature: Situated in an “Oasis”, with the creations
of Man and Nature complementing each other to achieve a soothing balance
● The Core of Aesthetics: The building itself is a work of art, the
embodiment of technology and culture.
3. The 3 viewing axes of the complex are formed from that of Wuhan
city
4. The design aims to preserve the existing high rise bridge that joins
with the ground-level transport network to create a dynamic, rich and epic
view of the transportation links.
5. The construction of the Collective Body is to be divided into sections
with accords to their design and predicted construc- tion
times. Each section of the
construction will have their |
own terms and restrictions,
while being independent of each other, with their completion the Collective
will establish a feel of unity and majesty.
6. The letters “A” and “V” are the symbols of the design collective, symbolizing
“Advancements” and “Victory” |
